friendly dr explained about procedure and able to give a prompt appointment for surgery which suited me. combined professionalism with accessibility. able to reduce my fears of surgery, and awake after spinal this was not uncomfortable but quite interesting.. though I would have liked a ceiling mirror so I could have watched the whole thing. (not his fault) I was very rapidly mobile, indeed supported the junior doctor strike a few days after surgery, at the local NHS hospital, and walked from parking with crutches. Been able to walk around area where I live and to visit family for two or three weeks now, carrying a stick in my bag in case tired and not using the crutches. Good result, no infection and noticed on my phone had done 10000 steps on a couple of days by 5 weeks. I hadn't expected, with such good days, to have have various night pains up and down leg which woke me, though thinking about it, there is bound to have been some pressure on nerves during the procedure, taking a while to settle. At no stage had I weakness in any muscles.

I was initially concerned about the procedure that I was scheduled to undergo; however, I met Mr Ahmad and I happened to be his first patient at the hospital on his first day there. After speaking with Mr Ahmad, he made me feel safe and reassured. He explained the procedure in its entirety and made me feel relieved that he would be carrying out the operation. I am pleased with the result of the operation, and the whole process.

Having been in agony with knee pain for many years, I was delighted when Mr Mudussar Ahmad accepted me for complex knee replacement surgery. I have a high body mass index and had already been refused to be seen in a local private hospital. From our first meeting. Mr Ahmad was reassuring, professional and friendly explaining everything in a clear and understandable manner so I knew the potential difficulties of the post-surgery recovery. Mr Ahmad instilled confidence as a caring and kind professional with an understanding of the pain I was in. Post surgery, Mr Ahmad came again to talk to me in a calm and kind manner though he had been in theatre all day. The surgical scar is very neat and tidy. I’m delighted to say my recovery has been steady and without any complications. I’m committed to continue to exercise and walk and everyday is an improvement. I will be forever grateful for the belief Mr Ahmad had in me though I had a high BMI. I would recommend this surgeon for his professional and personable approach. I also wouldn’t hesitate to say that any new medic could learn a lot from him. I will be returning at some stage to have my other knee attended to and will wait for Mr Ahmad to be available.

i HAD A RIGHT TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT. He explained everything ,the procedure and everything I wanted to know . I felt comfortable asking anything and was always given very clear explanations . I felt fully confident and comfortable . I am very happy with both procedure and outcome , I feel it has given me 10 yrs of life back !

Good listener Very good surgeon Because I was an nhs patient , the admin team cancelled my first op date and a week before the next op date tried to cancel me again…..did nothing for my stress levels so this needs to be looked at. Refused the second cancellation
